WelcomeELCOME to the website for the Diocese of the West of the Anglican Church in America.  Serving the States of Alaska, Arizona,  California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

The Diocese of the West is dedicated to making Jesus Christ known to a hurting world through the ministries of Word and Sacrament.  Our parishes worship using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, the Anglican or American Missals, the 1940 Hymnal and other traditional texts. The best way to discover who we are and what we believe is to attend a service at one of our parishes or missions.

4th Annual MISSIONS RETREAT and CLERICUS 2008 Announced

Pasadena, CA—2 April 2008
Canon Scott Kingsbury has announced that the 4th Annual Missions Retreat and Clericus 2008 will meet June  2-6 at the Serra Retreat Center in Malibu, California. Click this Brochure link for a PDF of the brochure. Your Rector, Vicar or Priest-in-Charge should have received a packet with brochures and registration forms. If these are not available, we have provided them electronically.

REGISTRATION FORMS

For your convenience we have provided two form types. Both require a PDF Reader (like Adobe Acrobat). Both will be printed and sent to Canon Kingsbury. But, one allows you to use your computer to fill out the form and then print it:

1) Computer fill-out form

This form has lightly colored areas that allow you to type your information while displaying the form on your computer, print the finished form and then mail via the postal service.

 2) Conventional form

This form is designed for you to print and then fill it in by hand and then mail via the postal service.

You will need a Portable Document Format (PDF) Reader, free from Adobe, to use either of these forms. The form is available from:

HE hallmarks of the "traditional" church are

  • Catholic Faith
  • Apostolic Order
  • Sacramental Worship
  • Evangelical Witness.

The churches and missions which are part of the Anglican Church in America, itself a part of the international Traditional Anglican Communion, are "formal but friendly." The services are based on the first official prayer book in English which was based on the established practice of religion and liturgy of Salisbury and known as the Sarum Usage. Today we use the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer.
