The CalendarFountain Valley, Ca - December 31, 2008 Beginning with January 2008, the Calendar information at the right is reproduced from the American Missal. This Missal uses all the 1928 Book of Common Prayer observances but adds to it those commemorations and memorials relevant to the United States. There is a similar Calendar in the Anglican Missal American Usage. These three books are in use in the Anglican Church in America and the Diocese of the West. Except for Sundays and Prayer Book observances, all other observances are optional. Another source of commemorations and memorials is the calendar published by the Ashby Company in their Anglican Church or Churchman's Ordo editions. The churches and missions which are part of the Anglican Church in America, itself a part of the International Traditional Anglican Communion, are "formal but friendly." The services are based on the first official prayer book in English which was based on the established practice of religion and liturgy of Salisbury and known as the Sarum Usage. Today we use the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer.
